As the new manager of 24 Carrot Gardens my addition to this great initiative is to strengthen our artistic activities. But what kind of art do I talk about here? Well, there is no simple answer for this… The first question is: what do I, Tamas Oszvald, do under the label of ‘art’?

Our major project partner Colony47 are holding their annual winter appeal this week at Mona. There are still tickets available for the cocktail party and auction to be hosted by Hank Petrusma.

Once a term we invite our 24 Carrot teacher aides to come together, exchange resources and share their experiences. The Term One gathering for our Kitchen teacher aides was hosted by Moonah Primary School and featured the work of our Mona Market curators, Jen Murnaghan and Jo Cook, sharing their passion and ideas on digestion, gut health and fermentation.

"Over the last twelve months 24 Carrot has grown from a vision to sow seeds of lifelong learning to encompass twelve whole school comunities in southern Tasmania. In partnership with the Stephanie Alexander Kithcen Garden Foundation (SAKGF), Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) and the Department of Education (DoE) the project has grown from strength to strength, provisioning our schools with vibrant kitchen gardens for growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing."

MONA GASP Funrun & Walk

A big thank you to Glenorchy City Council and the team at GASP! for inviting our 24 Carrot students and staff to participate in the MONA GASP! Funrun & Walk. The event will take place on Sunday 20 March, kicking off at 8am.
Runners are invited to start and finish at Mona for the 8km run via GASP!, whilst a 4km run / walk leaves from Wilkinson's Proint, travelling along GASP!, Montrose Bay and ending at Mona.
Entry fee of $15 per student or teacher includes breakfast on arrival to Mona after the event.
